European Week of Money
As an integral part of the 'In Medias ReStart' project the MYP class representatives - Clemente, Fiona, Maciej, Timur, Yuyao and Zoe participated at the European Week of Money held at the Ministry of Science and Education on March 5th.
The European Week of Money is organised by the Ministry of Science, Education and Sports, Ministry of Finance, the Ministry of the Economy, the Education and Training Agency and the Croatian National Bank. The main goal is to improve financial literacy and to enable children, young people and citizens to acquire financial competencies needed in everyday private and business life.
Fiona, Timur and Zoe presented the paper money collected from the countries of origins of the MYP students. Clemente, Maciej and Yuyao presented the Math financial project 'Home budget' that we have done during the Maths classes with the Maths teacher Ms. Marta Kvesic. We were playing a role of an adult for a week. At the beginning of the week we had a budget of 1550 HRK and we had to distribute it wisely on our children, food, supplies, dog, bills etc. We all ended up with a negative balance. We figured it out that being an adult is very difficult because there are a lot of responsibilities to take care of.
We came back proud to school because all the visitors, participants and journalists were genuinely interested in our project and told us that we were doing a great job.
