Within the project "In Medias ReStart - integrative approach to teaching media, digital, reading, science, multilingual and multicultural literacy ", co-financed by European Union Funds from the European Social Fund, training of educational staff participating in the project was held on " Media and digital literacy ".

The training was held in Zagreb at the Matija Gubec Elementary School, March 21 and 22, and lectures and workshops were attended by twenty teachers from three educational institutions participating in the project: Matija Gubec Elementary School from Zagreb as project holder school and partner schools: Mario Martinolic Elementary School in Mali Lošinj and Marko Marulić Secondary School, Slatina.

As the aim of the project is to create extracurricular activities that integrate teaching in the field of multiple literacies, at the first training we had the opportunity to listen and develop very interesting  topics in the field of media and digital literacy.

The  topics were:

Language and style of media; Language manipulation in the media and its impact on children and young people,

How to recognize misinformation?; Digital and media literacy,

Pedagogical Models of Education for Teaching Media - Teaching Media; Sensationalism in the media as an ethical issue,

Growing up within positive and negative media content; Internet safety and cyberbullying.

The acquired informations, knowledge and skills that the educators have brought to us in an extremely interesting and professional way will be greatly used and applied in further elaboration of project goals.
